Swimming Programs

BABIES & TODDLERS (6 MONTHS - 3 YEARS)

In the infant program, a parent or carer supports the baby or toddler in the pool. This helps build confidence and supports the child's learning process as well as create a unique bonding and trust building experience between parent and child.

Children will learn to:

  • water conditioning skills and understand trigger/cues for safe swimming
  • parents will learn correct hold techniques to ensure babies are comfortable in the water
  • submersions - babies will learn breath control and introduction to blowing bubbles
  • motor skills – working toward independent movement through interactive activities – paddle, kick and propulsion
  • flotation
  • survival skills – entries and exits
  • socialisation with other children through interactive and engaging activities
PRESCHOOL PROGRAM (3 YEARS TO SCHOOL AGE)

Throughout the preschool swimming program, your child will become more independent and confident in the water. They will also begin to develop important water survival skills.

Children will learn skills in:

  • body orientation;
  • propulsion and submersion;
  • basic stroke development;
SCHOOL AGED (5+ YEARS)

In this program, the focus is on physical, intellectual and personal development. Children establish a lifelong appreciation for safe activity in the water, and learn vital survival skills not just for the pool but for rivers, lakes and the ocean. They'll also be introduced to skills that will build their foundational skills in aquatic sport.

Children will learn to:

  • develop and refine swimming strokes
  • cooperate with and respect others in an aquatic environment
  • make safe and sensible decisions and solve problems in and around water.
  • challenge themselves to build endurance and strength for the sport of swimming
TEEN AND ADULT SWIMMING LESSONS

It's never too late to learn how to swim. Our aim is to help you develop swimming technique in the water, and learn vital survival skills not just for the pool but for rivers, lakes and the ocean.

  • Beginner classes develop water confidence through buoyancy and mobility. We'll gradually introduce steps to swimming.
  • Intermediate and advanced classes focus on stroke refinement and correction.
