Turning Children into little Demons
October 12, 2018
As part of the school holiday program at the Casey ARC Child Care Centre, several Casey Demons players and their mascot Daisy Demon popped in for our Annual Footy Day.
The Casey Demons, including Mitch Lewis, spent the morning teaching the kids in both the Casey ARC Child Care program and Kids Club school holiday program, how to kick a football and also held handball competitions. Daisy Demon also played with the children in the playground. Along with the games, there were giveaways such as Melbourne Football Club posters, stickers, footy cards and footballs.
“It was very exciting,” said Trish Hackett, Children’s Program Coordinator for the centre, “and the children were in awe of meeting real footballers, whom many of them aspire to be like.”
“It was great for them to have these role models encouraging the children and showing them some football skills,” said Susie Nogic, Casey ARC Centre Manager. “We hope to build on the relationship between ONE Casey and the Casey Demons as we can see from events such as today’s that it makes a world of difference to the kids and the community as a whole.”
The Casey Demons may not have won the grand final this year but they have won the hearts of all the children they spent time with at Casey ARC.
