Sensei Lisa and some of her students

Hi My name is Sensei Lisa Yelland,

I am currently a 3rd Dan black belt in Shukokai Karate.

As part of the Shukokai Karate Dojos Group I have been given the opportunity to teach Karate classes at the Casey Arc.

Sensei Darryl Thornton is the head instructor in the Shukokai Karate Dojos group and I have trained in his organisation for over 15 years.

My love of Martial Arts began when my sons started training back in May of 2006 . It took me about 6 weeks of watching my boys train to realise that this was something we could do as a family.

We are a family based club with classes split by age group so the programs are age appropriate.

Little Ninjas for 3-4 year olds giving a karate focused program focusing on gross motor skills and games based learning. Helping to build confidence and coordination in a fun environment

Mighty Samurai: for 5-6 year olds providing karate based programs that incorporate life skills in a fun and exciting manner. Focus, Self- Control, Memory, Fitness and Coordination are all part of the goals in this structured formal Karate training.

Juniors: for 7 - 12 year olds Focusing on incorporating Martial Arts Skills into a holistic approach to self - defence and personal development. Reinforcing values you will be teaching your children at home such as self-respect how to avoid and deal with bullying and when to use karate for self defence

Adults and Teens : for 13 years plus program is a traditional japanese karate program. The Style of Shukokai Translates as “a way for all”

If you have any questions or are interested in doing a trial set of classes please email lisa.yelland@shukokaidojos.com.au or send an SMS to +61488880799 for additional information.

I would love to welcome you to our Shukokai Family.

Sensei Lisa Yelland.
